What You Never Wanted To Know About Genital Acne

Perhaps you didn’t know that there was such a thing as genital acne before reading this headline. Hello! Aren’t you glad you turned on the computer today? Well, if you don’t know anything about genital acne, chances are you never had the lack of pleasure of living with genital acne. You think you have a hard life? Well, count your acne-less blessings that you don’t have genital acne.

My God, What Is It?

Genital acne is exactly the same kind of acne you get on any other part of your body, only it grows on your genitals. This can be merely annoying for some people and downright painful for others. They look like whiteheads or blackheads on your genitals. They can be popped, but that’s only recommended for those who get a thrill out of pain that makes out them pass out.

Where Did It Come From?

The causes of genital acne are exactly the same as for acne that you get anywhere else on your body. A pimple forms when the pore is clogged up with bacteria from too much oil, sweat, dirt or grease. You did NOT get genital acne from sex with someone else. It is not contagious. However, depending upon the position of the genital acne, you will not be able to have sex because of the pain. Also, your potential mate will mostly be turned off from the bumps on your genitals and may have a difficult time believing that the bumps are only genital acne and not something worse.

Genital acne can be caused by dirty clothes, improper hygiene or if a laundry detergent is too harsh for your body.

What Do I Do Now?

There are many things you can do to treat genital acne.

Change the brand of laundry detergent you use.
Use a gentle antibacterial to clean the pimples.
Do NOT use over the counter acne creams or pads on your genitals.
Wear looser clothes
Use only mild soap on your body
See your doctor

What Are These Things On My Nipples?

Genital acne can also show up on your nipples or your armpits as well as your private parts. They are much easier to treat. Unless they are large, boil-like, painful, or the sore hasn’t gone away for two weeks, you can treat them yourself. Keep yourself clean, wear looser clothes, shave carefully and drink plenty of water.
