The truth about stretch marks revealed
Stretch marks can occur in most of us and is a bit hard to get rid of. A torn dermis causes stretch marks on your body and would take time to diminish but would not disappear. The rapid stretching of skin can be caused due to rapid growth, pregnancy, muscle building, rapid gain of fat or losing weight. This can cause a severe pull on your skin that overcomes the elasticity of your dermis.
It is reported that stretch marks are caused by a splitting of the elastin in the dermis along linear tracks. These create purple lines which eventually fade and turn to white, irregular surfaces on the skin. Gaining weight is noted as the main cause for stretch marks as the elastin in your dermis starts to damage because of the skin being stretched. The moment you lose weight the stretch marks becomes noticeable. They may appear anywhere in your body but areas where larger amount of fat is stored can most likely get stretch marks.
