Acne treatments for oily skin
Acne with oily skin is a bad skin condition faced by many teens. Some skin cleansers and special skin treatments for oily skin and acne recommended by doctors may help the skin to recover from this condition. Oily skin types may be common among teenagers but some adults too can have very oily skin. It depends on the individual skin condition and sometimes may be affected by various other factors as well, such as pregnancy, highly stressful lifestyle etc.
Treatment ideas for acne with oily skin
It is better to keep your face clean at all times
Clean skin will reduce the acne and the oiliness in the skin. It is better to wash the face and the neck at least twice a day. This will dissolve the oil and prevent the pores from becoming clogged. However, it is not good to wash too much either as this will cause you to have dry skin. Therefore it is better not to wash your face more than twice a day. When you use cleansers or toners, be sure to use cleansers or toners with alpha-hydroxy acid or salicylic acid which treats both acne and the oily skin.
After you finish the washing, use oil free moisturizers to your face and the neck area. Use moisturizers which contain sunscreen to diminish sun damage and winkles. If you are not sure how to choose the best cleanser, toner or moisturiser that suits your skin type, seek advice from a dermatologist. He will check your skin and advise which one suits you best.
If you use make up every day, it is better to use oil free make up
Be careful when buying make up, many make up products contain oil and can lead to oily skin and even acne. Most of the oil free make up products come with the contents on the label. Therefore read the packing before buying.
Dermatologists say that mineral make up is probably the best make up for oily skin with acne. It has the best capacity to absorb the excess oil.
You have to ensure that the brushes used to apply makeup are always clean before use. If they are not, it might help increase acne.
Use Acne spot treatments
Try using acne treatments which contain tea tree oil, salicylic acid, or benzyol peroxide and it should be applied to the spot of acne, not for the entire face. If you use acne medications all over the face, it can lead to dry skin. If you can use sunscreen on top of the acne treatment, it helps to protect your skin from sun.
Consult a dermatologist for further treatment for acne with oily skin
There are some medications which you may require a doctor’s prescription to buy. Those medicines are very effective, but you have to take it with the consent of your doctor. Your doctor/ dermatologist will check your skin condition and acne condition before he prescribes the most suitable medication. Therefore, it is better to see your doctor, if you feel that your personal treatments aren’t effective anymore.
